Since 2004 we have been able to provide work experience placements for students, both from schools and university. Some have very kindly provided us with some short accounts of their time with the company.

During the summer of last year, I had the pleasure of working with Matthew, alongside him and his company – Moveable Feast. Whilst there we (hopefully!) helped Matthew tour his performances of ancient myths and legends using educational theatre and workshops. This was one of the most enjoyable, exciting and enriching two weeks I have ever spent in my life. Not only was it a pleasure to work with Matthew and his team - who were unbelievably warm and welcoming - but it was also such an honor to be a part of a child’s education for a day and to think that they would go home having learnt something so valuable in the form of something so magical and cool!

Moveable Feast’s work is so amazing and should be an essential part of a child’s education as it adds so many new and interesting dimensions to different subjects learnt in the school curriculum.

In my time there it was clear that not only do Matthew and the team put so much energy and time into their performance, but they also really love what they are there to do.

I’m sure that it wasn’t only the children that learnt something during those workshops - I learnt an enormous deal and this also helped boost my confidence and broaden my understanding of concepts and myths found in Literature (which is what I am currently studying).

Matthew and the team manage, in the space of a few hours, to balance out valuable education and learning with equally essential fun, laughter and fascination for whatever lesson is being taught. This is a gift which I’ve come to learn is really rare.

I’m so grateful and happy I was given the opportunity to work with such amazing, enthusiastic and bright young people – and working with children was really cool too!
