Moveable Feast Productions

Work Experience

Yasmin Yaqub

I have just finished year 11 at Allerton Grange High School. I worked with Moveable Feast Productions for two weeks for my work experience, and I couldn’t have asked for a better place!

During my two weeks, I assisted Matthew Bellwood in helping construct masks and props for workshops. I was also lucky enough to spend a day making props with Amy Levene, as she regularly designs for Moveable Feast. I saw how much work Matthew put into making the props and helping him made me realise that I can be quite artistic!

As well as making props, I got the chance to go to schools and help in the workshops. I was lucky enough to experience the Egyptian, Viking and Greek workshops. All of the workshops were unique and enjoyable in their own way. During the workshops, I helped Matthew with the props and got the chance to work with the children and help them create their own pieces of drama based on the workshop.

My favourite workshop was the Viking Raid, as the children got dressed up and took part in an adventure. I was able to take part and help the children devise their own piece of physical theatre.

It was amazing to see how drama and excitement helped the children learn and I feel that I have learnt so much in the two weeks I worked with Moveable Feast.

I wish Matthew and the company all the best for the future and hope to work with the company again some time.
